2 year old Scottish Terrier wont stop pooping in the house?
We have a male 2 year old Scottish Terrier that keeps pooping in the house, even after he's been let out. We keep him in a crate when we're gone, but he is going almost as soon as he is let back in the house and we are out of sight for just a minute. He usually chooses the children's playroom, which is just off the kitchen (where he comes in from outside) to leave his gift. He acts as if he knows he is in trouble instantly.. He'll put his head down and go to his crate. He is let out numerous times through out the day, more than 5, and taken on walks regularly. What can we do to break this bad habit he is creating?
BTW.. he is fixed and used to mark all over the house, but we were able to break that.
Just another idea , we had the same problem with our 18 month Terrier and we knew she would go there (in the back room laminate flooring etc) after her walk like yours did .
So we would keep watch on her and wait till she started sniffing circling , then say 'out' 'out' and show her the door . She would then Go out ,.
Now a days while out we let her chew grass (before she poops ) which seems to help her poop (grass is a doggie laxative maybe), and we let her stop and sniff around more , leaving her enough time to poop.
These ideas relate to out problems with our terrier, hope it helps.
