I'm looking for an Irish folk tale or fairy tale, can anyone help me out?
I would prefer a folk tale. It shouldn't be one that is too popular (here in the USA). It should have some sort of role model aspect to it, universal elements (common motif), and have some sort of detail about Ireland. Thanks for your help!
Nice question!
The immediate answers that spring to mind would be the Children of Lir, or Cu Chulainn's deeds, Fionn's deeds, or Tìr na nÒg as the most popular ones from memory. There's a nice selection here of more obscure ones too, plus the classics.
Not sure which ones you tell in the U.S., so have a browse there. All the best-
